The
Faces of
New York

As an artist, I moved to New York and enrolled in Parsons to challenge myself and embrace a more conceptually driven approach to my work. The result is my collection of street portraits, "The Faces of New York."

In this project, I aim to explore the concept of individuality within a crowd. In a city where personal expression is ubiquitous, standing out can seem like the ultimate achievement. However, I seek to demonstrate that if we photograph enough people, we will inevitably find similarities that blur the boundaries of uniqueness.

Through my photographs, I showcase the beauty and diversity of New York's inhabitants while highlighting the paradoxical nature of our identities. We are both distinct individuals and indistinguishable members of a larger collective. The order and arrangement of the images always vary, providing a unique experience each time the viewer engages with my work.

Ultimately, "The Faces of New York" invites the viewer to question their understanding of self and community, challenging them to consider the complexity of human identity within the context of a bustling metropolis.

Introuvable

Artist statement: As a photographer, I believe that life is a journey of self-discovery, often leading us down paths that are unknown and full of uncertainty. In my collection, "Introuvable," I seek to capture the essence of this journey, portraying the search for something that may be intangible or unknown. I draw inspiration from those moments in life when we find ourselves wandering, searching for something to make us feel whole, and yet, we don't know exactly what it is we're looking for. Through my photographs, I invite the viewer to join me on this journey, to feel the same sense of restlessness and uncertainty that we all experience at times. Each image represents a moment in time when we may feel lost or adrift, but also a reminder that we are all on a journey and that sometimes the search itself is the destination. My hope is that this collection inspires viewers to embrace their own journeys, to revel in the unknown, and to find beauty and meaning in the search for the "Introuvable."
